Prayer Guide From Pastor Kevin
To our Church Family as well as Friends who may read this,

I have asked you to take 30 minutes out of your day  to pray for revival and spiritual awakening in our land and around the world. Thirty minutes can be daunting. Most of us pray for revival and awakening each week, and we usually do that in the span of a couple of minutes as we pray for other things, don’t we? That’s my method, at least. Yours may be different.

So please use the following to pray for revival and awakening. You may modify it any way you like..

Ps. 100 says, “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving.”

  • Give thanks you can call God “Father.”
  • Give thanks for Jesus as the Savior.
  • Give thanks for the Holy Spirit as your Helper. He even helps you to pray.
  • Give thanks for the wonderful Word of God.
  • Give thanks for the blessing of prayer.
  • Give thanks for your church.

You get the idea. Keep adding to the things you are thankful for.

Ps. 100 also tells us to enter His courts with praise. How is praise different from thanksgiving. Well, as I see it, thanksgiving is related to what God does. Praise, though, is directed at who God is. Let me show you some examples.

  • Lord, you are holy
  • Lord, you are righteous
  • Lord, you are full of mercy and ready to forgive
  • Lord, you are kind and just
  • Lord, you are my Rock
  • Lord, you are my Redeemer

I am sure you can think of a hundred descriptors of who God is.

Read the following Scriptures. Read them aloud if you can.

  • Revelation 15:3-4
  • Revelation 14:7
  • Revelation 4:11
  • Jude, verse 25
  • Psalm 145:1-21
  • 2 Chronicles 7:13-14

Based on the last verse above, pray the verse for you, for your church, and for whomever the Lord places on your heart. For example, “Lord, I humble myself before you. You are God, the Almighty. I pray for my church and my nation to humble itself before you. We have trusted science to save us from so many things, including this terrible virus But you are God. You are the Lord who heals and delivers. I pray for a burden to pray to fall on me and my church family. I pray for each of us to seek your face. I pray that our leaders will seek your face. Thank you for your promise to hear. Thank you for your promise to forgive and to heal.”

  • Pray for churches to repent.
  • Pray for nations to repent.
  • Pray for leaders to repent.
  • Pray for the Holy Spirit to restore the fear of God in the eyes of all.

Read aloud Daniel 9:4-10, 16-19. Read it and pray it as you read.

Read aloud Revelation 18:1-8

  • Pray for pastors to be filled with the Spirit and to preach with the anointing of the Spirit.
  • Pray for people to be receptive to the gospel.
  • Pray for the glory of the Lord to fill your church, your city, and your nation.

These are suggestions.. You may  have other ideas as to what you should pray for. But let’s begin here.
